Tourist attractions in Gold Coast include surf beaches, and theme parks including, Water World Dreamworld, Sea World, , Warner Bros. Movie World, ,Wildlife Sanctuary, Wildlife Park, Dolphins show Australian Outback Spectacular and Paradise Country.
Next day, we visited Warner Bros Movie World and got lost in a world of fantasy and fun, meeting our favourite stars-heroes ( Batman, Marilyn Monroe, Scooby Doo, Shrek, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Batman, golden Codillac and experiencing exhilarating adventure rides. Costumed character performers moving around everywhere, allowing visitors the chance to take photos with them. The Police Academy stunt-show, all stars Parade, boat ride, roller coaster ride on the steepest drop in the world made it quite an unforgettable day.-
In the CURRUMBIN WILD LIFE SANCTUARY, GOLD COAST{ BIRD PARK} we had an amazing experience of hand feeding huge flocks of free-flying wild Rainbow Lorikeets, which come to the Sanctuary every morning to feast off the special mixture, offered by tourists in a plate.. It was thrilling to find birds perching fearlessly on your head and shoulders to feed on your offers. The lorikeets flock to the sanctuary twice daily to be fed by visitors. The stunner was the kangaroo enclosure where we had a happy time getting up close and feeding the kangaroos, even stroking them; they were all lying, or hopping, around with the joeys in their pouches. Another strange one was KOALAS monkey type tree climbers, Ostriches, Crocodiles, sea lions, polar bears and many varieties of birds.
In the SEA WORLD, AQUARIUM we were dazzled and amazed at the speed and agility of penguins and had a close view of the fearsome tiger-shark. The sea lions and Dolphins show was delightful and the spectacular water-skiing feats were unforgettable, particularly the car actually being driven in water.. The view from the cable car ride from the majestic heights of Skyway was wonderful.
The aerial view of coral reef on our flight to CAIRNS was panoramic. We visited the TJAPUKAI aboriginal cultural park, where the traditional Tjapukai culture was put on show by the Tjapukai artists with authentic music, dance and storytelling. Ab origins dance show imitating birds, fire making, pipe music, herbal medicine etc., were interesting. The world’s oldest living culture is brought to life by Aboriginal performers who engage guests with interactive activities such as face painting and boomerang throwing. I tried my best in BOOM RANG throwing.
and over KURAND tropical rain forest, hills, rivers and gushing waters of waterfalls, was exhilarating. We
alighted in a lovely spot and enjoyed a close view of the waterfall,
strange trees, plants, flowers etc., in the WET TROPICS world heritage area
.We drove in tour bus to RYDGES PLAZA HOTEL for our night's stay. Next day we sailed in the cruise to visit GREEN ISLAND, went trekking inside the uninhabited island, watching scuba diving, snorkel ling, etc., Later we sailed in a glass bottom boat towards the GREAT BARRIER REEF, the Natural wonder of the ocean world and witnessed the breathtaking beauty of the world's largest coral reef Eco-system and multiple species of marine life. The only living thing on Earth visible from space, it was born 25 million years ago.
We flew to SYDNEY and stayed in ASPEN HOTEL, and enjoyed the panoramic tour of Australia's famed BONDI BEACH, watching surfers and sun-bathing couples. We visited the Darling Harbor and sailed under the famous bridge, in Show Boat cruise, sight seeing the beauty of night illumination, passing through the 0pera house, enjoying simultaneously the dance and dinner in cruise. Next day we visited and strolled inside the majestic and spectacular 0pera House, gigantic structure, its unparalleled design and construction and a miracle of architectural engineering. Indeed a masterpiece of 20th century architecture and a world-famous icon of architecture.
0ur visit to SYDNEY TOWER, the tallest building in Sydney with a magnificent view of the city and harbour, was thrilling. Travel from the ground to the tower is via three high speed lifts that reach the observation deck fast enough. Skywalk is an open-air, glass-floored platform encircling the Sydney Tower Eye at a height quite frightening, to look down through the glass bottom floor. My head got dizzy. The Aeriel view was similar to my experience over Empire State Building at New York. The Opera House was distinct and conspicuous from Skywalk.
We drove to CANBERRA capital CITY and went inside the PARLIAMENT, Exhibition Centre and the War Memorial. The Exhibits and paintings related to their History.
We flew to MEL BORNE and visited the famed CRICKET STADIUM and saw the exhibits of Bradman with Tendulkar, Lala Amarnath and action images of all cricketers and other sportsmen. We saw the Town Hall, old Parliament House and the grand, tall and magnificent St Patrick cathedral. The historic, aesthetic FITZROY garden famed for its architectural and horticultural significance, exhibited most beautiful collection of plants and exotic flowers. We also saw the cottage of Capt James COOK. We were mostly strolling, walking, taking tram and bus rides and enjoying the ambiance of the city. We were staying opposite Flinders street station taking lunch in NIRANKAR restaurant and reading THE AGE newspaper. We saw horse drawn carriages [Tonga] and horse riding Policemen. We also visited the SHRINE OF REMEMBRANCE displaying the Gallery of Medals.
The climax of the tour was our long drive to PHILIP ISLAND to witness the famed PENGUIN PARADE. It is amazing to see little Penguins returning ashore after a day’s fishing at sunset. We were there sitting quietly without making noise or disturbing their attention, to see this wonder of Little Penguins waddling up the beach to the safety of their homes in the sand dunes as the sun was fading in the horizon. Witnessing this magical procession of hundreds of home-coming penguins, is a treat never to be forgotten.
We took a long drive in Volvo bus in one of the worlds finest coastal drive through GREAT OCEAN ROAD, took a break and relaxed midway in beach, feeding pigeons, watching surfers and swimmers in pads, over never ending waves......
We reached the TWELVE APOSTLES ROCK FORMATIONS at Port Campbell National Marines Park and took quite a long walk around watching The Twelve Apostles. It is a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of the Port, formed by erosion due to the ravage and onslaught of nonstop waves. The soft limestone formed into caves in the cliffs, which then became arches, which in turn collapsed; leaving rock stacks up to 45 metres high. Quite a strange natural phenomenon. Erosion created these limestone stacks that are viewable from the Great Ocean Road, off the Victorian coast, where they continue to erode. In spite of being named the Twelve Apostles, there were only nine when they were named -- but after a recent fall, there are now eight. Their base erodes at a rate of two centimeters a year.
Quite unexpectedly we had the excitement of
HELICOP JOY RIDE around MELBOURNE.
The Joy Flight over the beautiful coastal area
was memorable..
